This week:
We learned more about plants and how each part helps the plant. We made a poster about plants. During reading, we listened to nonfiction stories about plants and looked at the pictures to help us find information. In math, we practiced adding ten to any number and reviewed true and false equations. We also used place value to help us add and subtract. In writing, we focused on making sure we have capital letters and periods.
Next week:
Sight words: six seven eight nine ten
We will be reviewing shapes and adding 3 numbers. During reading we will find the main idea and details. During writing, we will write farm poems. They will also be making a map of a farm.

This week:
They did an amazing job at their program!!!
We learned about animals and their offspring. We looked for similarities in adult animals and baby animals. They created an animal and drew its offspring.
The zoo came and showed us some neat animals!
We read fictional stories with animals and compared the characters to each other. In math, we learned different ways to add double digit numbers. In writing, they wrote about how to take care of an animal.
Next week:
Sight words: zero one two three four five
We will be learning about plants and how important they are to us and animals. We will look for text features in nonfiction books that we read. We will write about spring. In math, we will focus on adding ten to any number.

We reviewed goods and services and the importance of saving money and spending it wisely. We read stories about kids that did not always use good judgement when it came to spending money. We also played a kids version of Life. They earned money and experienced losing it or spending it on necessities.
In math, we focused on adding tens to a any number. For example 18+10= 28. We used the hundred chart to help us with this task.
The wrote stories about what kind of business they would have to sell goods or services.
Next week:

They finished their rock museum and made an invitation to invite you to their music program.
Next week:

We will be reviewing good and services. We will practicing missing addend with tens, using a number line to add and subtract, and continuing with patterns. We will play the game of Life to learn about earning money and spending it on goods and services. In writing, we will write about a service we would have.

We found properties of rocks and started to make a paper rock and write facts about it!
