This week:

We did different activities with teeth! We read a chapter book about the tooth fairy and wrote questions we had to help us remember the story. We also visualized some of the parts of the story by drawing a picture. We learned about how to take care of our teeth and wrote facts about that. In math, we added 10 to a number ex. 10+2=12 and 32+ 20=52.

In P.E., they did a fun activity with scooters!








Bailey's mom is a dental assistant and taught us more facts about our teeth! Thank you!



Next week:

Sight words: run tell us went why

We will be reading lots of Dr. Seuss stories!  We will make a rhyming book and find the lesson of each story. With our buddies, we will take a Dr. Seuss quote and show what it means by using pictures or skits. In math, we will focus on missing addends.

On Thursday, we will be doing different activities with the number 120!

Last week I sent home flash cards to practice facts that make 10. Please keep those and practice at home.
Upcoming events:

Read Across America week will be Feb. 29-Mar. 4th. We will playing a school wide Dr. Seuss bingo and PTO bought books that around 200 kids in the school will get to receive a free book!

Up with People will perform in our classroom on Mar. 1st. There is also a performance on Mar. 6th at the high school for anyone to attend.

120th day of school will be Mar. 3 and we will do all kinds of fun activities with 120 that day!

This week:

We learned about presidents. We read stories about Washington and Lincoln and compared the two of them. We wrote a story with the prompt:If I were president... In math we solved story problems and look for clues to find out if we should add or subtract. We also practiced missing addend problems.



Next week:

Sight words: fun  here new off old


We will be learning about how to keep our teeth healthy. We will be reading tooth fairy books and other fictional teeth stories and asking questions while we read. We will be doing more story problems with missing addend and adding ten to any number. We will also be doing some experiments to show how certain foods affect your teeth.

This week:

We used valentine activities to review fractions and retell a story. They also wrote valentine poems to each other. We reviewed missing addends and making 10 in math.

They made a collage of pictures of things they loved. They learned how to drag and drop pictures on the computer.
















Next week:

Our sight words are: come good may made part

We will be learning about presidents. We will reading fiction and nonfiction books about them and compare those books with each other. In math, we will focus on story problems and knowing to add or subtract.  They will pick a president to learn about and make a poster.

Upcoming Events:

Valentine party on Feb. 11th at 10 o'clock. Please send their valentine box or bag by Feb. 9th. If you are not able to make a box, please let me know!

Feb. 11th- Student Council is having a dress up day for Diabetes, Cancer, Valentines and Super bowl. You can wear red/silver, pink, or a team T-shirt of jersey.

This week:

We learned about animals this week. Bringing their own animals kept them engaged in our activities. They made a habitat for their animal and wrote a story about it with a beginning, middle, and end. we read several different animal stories and found the main idea and details in each story. In math, we reviewed tens and ones. They really have caught on to this concept. 






Next week:

We will be reviewing all of the words from week 1 to 19. It is so important that they can read these words. It makes reading easier when they know sight words. 

We will be incorporating different math and reading skills with Valentine activities. We will review fractions and start adding 2 digit numbers in math. We will read Valentine books and retell them. We will write Valentine poems and use technology to find things we love.
