This week:

We learned about making inferences in reading. I read a mystery book aloud to them and we found clues to help us understand the story. They were detectives and used inferences to help them solve a case. Someone was messing up our room, we found clues and solved the case. It was Mrs. Deutsch. They couldn't wait to find out what happened each day.

In math, we learned about time to the hour and half hour. Some students are able to tell time to 5 minutes!

We wrote a mystery story during writing. It was fun to read about what they had lost and the clues they used to find it!

Next week:
The sight words: day down did get long

There was a note sent home on Thursday about bringing a specific type of toy animal to school next week. Please let me know if you have any questions.

We will be learning about habitats, animals, and how animals and plants depend on each other. We will read nonfiction and fiction books about animals and find the main idea and detail. In writing, we will focus on writing a story with a beginning, middle, and end. In math, we are reviewing and going deeper with tens and ones.

It will be the 100th day of school next week, we will do something small on that day. We will have a 120th day celebration because our math standard is writing and reading numbers to 120. It will be sometime in March.
