This week:

We had a great week learning about Thanksgiving and what it would have been like to be a pilgrim. We read nonfiction and fiction stories about thanksgiving. We made connections to the books we read and recored them in our reading and math notebook.

In math, we found strategies to answer these type of problems 7+2= __+ 4. The students have came up with great strategies to find the answer.

We planned a pretend Thanksgiving meal. We reviewed goods and services as we found what we needed to make our meal. They found it is expensive to plan a large Thanksgiving meal. They had fun doing it.

We also made butter as they would have done in the past.

We welcomed Tatiana to our class this week. We now have 23 students and she is such a sweet girl, which fits in perfectly with the wonderful group of kids I have!

Next week:
We will be using reviewing things we have learned while making turkeys. They will make adding to ten turkeys, noun turkeys, and verb turkeys. We will continue to learn about living in the past and present.

I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving! I am thankful for your children!
